This circulating coin was issued in commemoration of establishment of The World Fellowship of Buddhists for 30 years on 25 May B.E. 2523 (1980).
Description
The obverse of the coin features His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej at shoulder length, wearing royal insignia krui (robe) and Phra Boromrajaphoositaphorn (พระบรมราชภูษิตาภรณ์ or elaborate intricate golden robe), with the royal face turning to the left side. On the top edge of the coin is read “Bhumibol Adulyadej, The Royal Patron”; at the lower part on the left side of the coin is read WThailand”; and on the right was signified of “10 Baht”.
The reverse side of the coin features Dharmachakra (Wheel of Dhamma) which is the symbol of The World Fellowship of Buddhists. Above of it is Roman letters of “W.F.B.” and under it is Buddhist era “B.E.2493-2523”. On the outer of the wheel is read “IN COMMEMORATION OF 30th ANNIVERSARY OF THE WORLD FELLOWSHIP OF BUDDHISTS”.
