The 2022 International Conference of NGOs (ICNGO2022)

Ms. Catherine Thiounn and Mr. NY Toky Andriamanjato, two executives of The WFB Office@UNESCO represented The WFB participated at the 2022 International Conference of NGOs (ICNGO2022) at the headquarter of UNESCO in Paris, France from 14-16 December B.E. 2565 (2022).  The theme of this year was “Breaking barriers- What role for civil society organizations towards a sustainable future.”  The Conference was a key forum in which UNESCO’s official NGO Partners met to review the state of cooperation with UNESCO.  Ms. Thiounn was designated to be part of the drafting group for the recommendations of the conference.  During the session, there were the election of a new president and the members of the NGO-UNESCO Liaison Committee.

In its recommendations, the ICNGO had taken into consideration in its program of activities for the next two years, among other forums and activities, the round table “Richness and challenges of dialogue between religions and spiritual traditions for a culture of peace and non-violence through education” in which The WFB was part in the group of interfaith dialogue and initiator of this roundtable was recommended.  This is an important step that was successfully taken since we have got UNESCO support through the NGO-UNESCO Liaison Committee.
