President of The WFB met the Permanent Observer of the Holy See and President of UNESCO African Committee of Memory of World

On 25th June B.E. 2567 (2024) Mr. Phallop Thaiarry, President of The WFB, met with Mr. Eric Soviguidi, the Permanent Observer of the Holy See to UNESCO. Mr. Phallop was accompanied by the executives of The WFB @UNESCO, including Mr. Jun-An Bill Chen, Ms. Fei Fei He, Mr. Ny Toky Andriamanjato, Mr. Fan Jiang, and Mr. Idanont Thaiarry, Secretary-General of WFBY. They discussed various issues, with Ambassado Soviguidi highlighting that current national leaders often prioritize political, social, and economic development over the true well-being of people. He emphasized that the unity of different religions can significantly benefit humanity. In response, Mr. Phallop noted that The WFB members come from various Buddhist traditions but are united under The WFB. He invited the Ambassador Soviguidi to the International Peace Conference 2024 that scheduled for October.
Later the same day, The WFB group visited H.E. Mr. Papa Momar Diop, President of UNESCO African Committee of Memory of World and former Ambassador of Senegal to UNESCO. Mr. Phallop reiterated that although The WFB’s members (regional centres) represent different Buddhist denominations, they are united for the betterment of Buddhism. He clarified that while The WFB Headquarters is situated in Thailand, it is an international non-governmental organization with 223 regional centres in 51 countries. He added that the Thai King supports all religions in Thailand. Mr. Phallop also invited H.E. Mr. Diop to attend the International Peace Conference 2024 at the UNESCO Headquarter.
