The 2024 International Conference of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs)

The executives of The WFB at UNESCO attended the 2024 International Conference of NGOs (ICNGO) held in official partnership with UNESCO from 17th – 19th December B.E. 2567 (2024) at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, France. The conference’s main theme was “Building Capacity for Action”, bringing together a network of 425 NGOs from over 70 countries across all regions of the world. The event served as a platform for exchanging ideas, discussing mutual objectives, and addressing shared concerns and interests.
This year’s theme focused on strengthening capacity for advocacy and partnershiops, highlighting success stories while addressing challenges. Presentations included discussions on UNESCO’s 2026-2029 program, gender equality, youth, and the priorities of Africa. During the conference, a new president, Ms. Svetlomira Stoyanova, was elected, along with 10 new committee members. The opening session was inaugurated by Mr. Xing Qu, UNESCO Deputy Director-General, and H.E. Ambassador Simona-Mirela Miculescu, President of the General Conference of UNESCO.
Moreover, The WFB’s contributions to the UNESCO Draft Programme and Budget for 2026-2029 were approved and integrated, emphasizing on education as a vital element for peace, inclusion, gender equality, human rights, and intercultural and interfaith dialogue.
