Dr. M.K. Otani Receives "Buddhist Culture Promotion Award" from Uttar Pradesh
Lucknow, India - On January 26, 2025, Dr. M.K. Otani, Chairman of The World Fellowship of Buddhists' Standing Committee on Socio-Economic Development was honored with the "Buddhist Culture Promotion Award" by the Government of Uttar Pradesh on Republic Day 2025. The award was presented by Smt. Anandiben Patel, the Honorable Governor of Uttar Pradesh, during a ceremony at Raj Bhavan.
Honorable Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, Shri Girish Chandra Yadav, and Principal Secretary of Tourism and Culture, Shri Mukesh Kumar Meshram, were also present at the event.
This prestigious award recognizes Dr. Otani's significant contributions to the promotion of Buddhism, social service, and the preservation of cultural heritage.
In his statement, Dr. Otani expressed his gratitude to those who have supported his endeavors, including mentors, colleagues, and well-wishers. He reaffirmed his commitment to continue working towards the global promotion of Buddhist values and cultural awareness.
Dr. Otani extended his sincere thanks to the Government of Uttar Pradesh and to all who have offered their support and good wishes.
Dr. Otani donated the money he received as an award to Govishan Buddhist Monastery, amounting to INR 51,000.
