The ceremony of raising the umbrella over the Buddha Vihara to celebrate the inauguration of Tripitaka Hall and the Chinese Tripitaka Exhibition

On 24th February B.E. 2568 (2025) the Buddha Jaksu Foundation invited Mr. Phallop Thaiarry, President of The WFB, to a royal audience with H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, who presided over the Tripitaka translation project from Chinese to Thai. This event also included the ceremony of raising the umbrella over the Buddha Vihara to celebrate the inauguration of Tripitaka Hall and the Chinese Tripitaka Exhibition, granted by Most Ven. Ming Sheng, Vice President of the Buddhist Association of China and President of the Guangdong Buddhist Association of China. The event was held in Sampran District, Nakhon Pathom Province, Thailand.
The initial funding for the translation of the Mahayana Tripitaka from Chinese to Thai was provided by H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn starting since B.E. 2551, 17 years ago. This project is a collaboration between local and Chinese Buddhists. Her Royal Highness also presided over the opening of the Mahayana Buddhist Cultural Exchange Center to commemorate her 5th Birth Anniversary on 2nd April B.E. 2558. On this occasion, Most Ven. Ming Sheng donated more than 1,000 copies of the Chinese Tripitaka to the project. The translation of the Tripitaka fosters a deeper understanding of how to live a good life and serves as a propagation of Buddhism.
