International Peace Conference for World Harmony

March 8–10, 2026 (B.E. 2569)
PARIS, FRANCE — The Permanent Delegation of the Republic of Madagascar to UNESCO, in partnership with The World Fellowship of Buddhists(WFB), Master Chin Kong’s Friends Association for Peace and Harmony Development, Pure Land Learning College Association Inc., and the Amitabha Buddhist Association Worldwide, successfully hosted the International Conference for World Harmony from March 8–10, 2026 (B.E. 2569).

Held at the UNESCO Headquarters, the conference was themed “The Role of Women in Promoting Peace,” strategically coinciding with the United Nations’ International Women’s Day on March 8.

The event also served as a dual tribute to the late Most Venerable Grand Master Chin Kung, marking both his 100th Birthday Commemoration and his Fourth Memorial Anniversary. The proceedings honored the Grand Master’s lifelong dedication to religious education, traditional culture, and the advancement of interreligious dialogue.

The three-day summit underscored the vital influence of women in peacebuilding, education, and cross-cultural diplomacy. By convening a diverse assembly of policymakers, scholars, religious leaders, and youth representatives, the conference fostered a global dialogue on gender equality as a cornerstone for sustainable peace.

Strengthening Academic Ties

A significant milestone of the event was the official signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the World Buddhist University (WBU) and Srinakharinwirot University (SWU).

The agreement was signed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Woraphat Phucharoen, WBU’s Vice Rector for Administration, and Prof. Dr. Cholvit Jearajit, Rector of SWU. This partnership signals a new era of collaboration, bridging the gap between specialized Buddhist higher education and mainstream international academia to foster holistic research and spiritual development.
