On 23rd March B.E. 2567 (2027) Mr. Phallop Thaiarry, President, and Mrs. Kanchana Soonsawad, Vice-President, of The WFB participated at the meeting of the ICDV & IABU Executive Committee for the 19th United Nations Day of Vesak Celebrations 2024 scheduled to take place in Thailand.  The meeting was held at Wat Prayurawongsawas and chaired by Ven. Prof. Dr. Phra Brahmapundit, a member of the Thai Supreme Sangha, Chairman of the International Council for the day of Vesak (ICDV), Chairman of the International Association of Buddhist Universities (IABU) and Abbot of Wat Prayurawongsawas Waraviharn, which Mrs. Puangpet Chunla-iad, Minister attached to the Prime Minister’s Office also attended.  The United Nations Day of Vesak 2024 is scheduled from 19th-20th May this year and it is expected the participation of religious leaders and Buddhists from 73 countries.

The meeting tabled plans and coordination between related agencies to prepare for Vesak Celebration on 22nd May, coincides with an auspicious year marking the 6th Cycle of His Majesty King Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua of Thailand on 28Th July.
