Commemoration of United Nations International Day of Vesak 2019

The Royal Embassy of the Kingdom of Thailand in Paris, France and Office of Thai Permanent Delegation to United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in co-operated with the Embassy of Sri Lanka and the Asia Pacific Group of Countries (ASPAC) organized the United Nations International Day of Vesak at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, France on 23 May B.E. 2562 (2019). On this occasion, Ven. Shakyavongsvisuddhi (Anil Man Sakya), Rector of the World Buddhist University (WBU), was invited as one of the guest speakers to deliver the message on the theme of “Buddha’s teaching for building sustainable peace through multicultural education and communication influenced by the Thripitaka”. Ven. Anil Man also mentioned in the speech that Vesak Day is the international significant day which is not only to Buddhist because it is considered the day of wisdom that will lead humankind to friendly living with peaceful and sustainable happiness.
