Visitors from the Focolare Movement

On 4 May B.E. 2565 (2022) executives of Focolare Movement paid a courtesy visit to The WFB Headquarters namely Ms. Rita Mousssallem from Lebanon, Mr. Antonio Salimbeni from Italy (2 Advisors for Asia and Oceania Region); Ms. Veronika Semmler from Germany, Mr. Glauco Venuti from Italy (2 representatives who are responsible for South East Asia and Pakistan area); Ms. Varaphorn Pongpis from Thailand (Coordinator of South East Asia area), and Mr. Luigi Butori from Italian (Religious Relationship Coordinator who is responsible for South East Asia area).  They were greeted by Mr. Phallop Thaiarry (Vice-President and Secretary-General), Mrs. Kanchana Soonsawad (EXCO Member), Mr. Kongkar Tipkeeree (Treasurer), Radm. Isara Yimpanich RTN (Board of Director), and Ms. Sawanee Chuensumran (Deputy Secretary-General) of The WFB.  They had discussed about future co-operation and activity including interfaith dialogue so that it could enhance a good relationship between Christian and Buddhist including other religions and beliefs.

Focolare Movement is an international organization that promotes the idea of unity and universal brotherhood.  It was founded in Italy since B.E. 2486 (1943) and was approved by the Catholic Church in B.E. 2505 (1962) with networking of 2 million people in 182 countries.  The movement remains largely Roman Catholic and has strong relationship to the major Christian denominations and other religions including non-religious.  It aims at spreading the message of unity worldwide, universal brotherhood and committed to building bridges of fraternal relationships among individuals between cultural groups and in every area of society.
