From 12-14 Mar. B.E. 2567 (2024) the World Fellowship of Buddhists delegation visited
Jinganshan on Bintan Island, Indonesia. The purpose of their visit was to explore the
feasibility of hosting an international Buddhist forum or conference in Indonesia. The
delegation consisted of Mr. Phallop Thaiarry, President of The WFB, Mr. Montian Thananart
(Secretary-General), Mr. Kongkar Tipkeeree (Treasurer), Dato’ Seri Tan Gin Soon (Vice-
President), Dato’ Ang Choo Hong, and Mr. Tan Gim Sun (EXCO Members), Mr. Smarn Sudto
(Advisor) and Mr. Idanont Thaiarry (WFBY Secretary General). During their time at
Jinganshan, they extended a courtesy visit to Ven. Tsung Yang Shih, who is President of
Yayasan Pendidikan Budha Charma Kepulauan Riau Indonesia (a regional centre of The WFB
in Indonesia), with whom they engaged in a productive discussion.
